The City of Lake Oswego is an area located near Portland, but maintains it’s own city, fire and school district. Near enough to downtown Portland, but separate and clearly a city in its own rights, Lake Oswego is distinct as being one of the Metro Portland PREMIERE neighborhoods. A very good mix of condo/town home and planned community such as Mountain Park (a nice neighborhood in Lake Oswego), and large estates, Lake Oswego has it all. Even its own lake — hence Lake Oswego — where boating, fishing and paddle boats are favorite activities. July 4th fireworks are fantastic and the city puts on a good display each year. Little known fact; Lake Oswego has a sub-division planned by a Tolkien aficionado with such names as Hobbit Ct., Rivendell, Lothlorien Way, Hillshire as actual streets names — and a gorgeous area it is. Lake Oswego is…Lake Oswego. A city within the shadow of Portland, Oregon, but a city unto its own.
